Tag 1, Challenge 2

Hello!  The Classroom at Ellen Hutson is showcasing their annual 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist, and I decided to create a tag to enter their 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2016 Challenge for Day 2: Glitter!  It probably seems like I ruined a perfectly good tag with a coffee cup, but I had a good reason!  I plan to use this tag to give a gift card--you can probably guess from where!  Any way, I was inspired by Day 2 artist Julia Stainton, who created a gorgeous tag, complete with glittery leaping deer, and fabulous snowflake die cuts from My Favorite Things dies!  You can see her creation here.  Ok, so here is my tag:

I created a woodgrain background on Neenah Desert Storm Paper using Colorbox Ink in Frost White, and a Tim Holtz mini-stencil from set 10.  I made falling snow on the tag with Nuovo Crystal Drops from Tonic in Gloss White.  The cup is a Tim Holtz stamp, and I stamped it in Tree Branch Archival Ink from Ranger on Tim Holtz watercolor paper.  I then colored it with Zig Clean Color markers.  These are new to me, and I didn't quite understand how they work, so I sort of messed up the green circle, but I am all about embracing imperfection!  When it was dry, I spritzed the cup lightly with Studio Calico Mr. Huey spray in Gold.  I die cut the greenery with a Tim Holtz die, and colored it with Copic markers.  I then went over it a few times with my Wink of Stella Glitter brush marker in clear.  Next, I die cut the deer with a die from Memory Box, and glittered it up with Distress Glitter in Antique Linen.  If I make this tag again, I will use Vintage Photo Distress Glitter, to make the deer stand out better.  I also die cut a snowflake with an Impression Obsession die, and glittered it with Prisma Ultra-Fine glitter from Stampendous.  I finished the tag off with a sticker from Heidi Swapp, and some gold and off-white twine from my stash.
